Our Ultimate Goal and Vision
Inspired by an organization in Denver, Colorado called The Phoenix, we enable people in addiction recovery and people with disabilities to learn and enjoy rock climbing as a way of getting healthy and staying clean and sober. We hope to create our own facility in the future where we would offer rock climbing, strength training, yoga, and educational workshops on topics like nutrition and meditation, and provide a meeting space for 12-step recovery groups.

Terri Lykins, RDN, LD, CD
Founder and Executive Director
Terri is a registered dietitian with thirty years’ experience in the recovery community, and over twenty years of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to stay fit and healthy through nutrition and exercise. Through The Phoenix, an organization that teaches sports to people in recovery, she discovered the benefits of rock climbing while she was living in Boulder, Colorado, in 2016. She wanted to bring the adventure home to Louisville, Kentucky and help people in recovery, and people with disabilities, to experience rock climbing and discover the benefits of elevating our dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and other healthy natural brain chemicals that give us emotional and physical peace, joy, and well-being.
